Allergies? Insect Bites? Try Pest Control

People who have insect allergies rejoice! A recent study from Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology gives new hope for your aversion to creepy-crawly-bitey insects as it reveals the possibility of injections that would make you “less allergic”. It's a promising development that should decrease the risks for particularly vulnerable people, even though some will not find the insects any less disturbing. While this is a good development , effective pest control will always be an issue for as long as there are bugs—and there are a great many of them. When you call in a reliable animal control company, such as Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control, you might not even find use for cures or therapies being marketed to the public. If you're uncertain of exactly how to ensure your family's safety then call in the ones who do, and you're going to be sting-free soon enough.

Catching the Fast and the Furry-ous: Humane Raccoon Removal

"It's short, it's fluffy, it's absolutely adorable, and apparently it's the newest celebrity of the mammalian world. The olinguito is the latest discovery announced by Smithsonian scientists in Washington; and it is now being welcomed as yet another cute and cuddly member of the raccoon family. It is a rarity, after all, and is therefore treasured by many people; unfortunately, the same cannot be said for its masked black and white cousins, who are often taken out of properties through humane raccoon removal methods. No bigger than a regular house cat—at roughly 2.5 feet long and weighing 2 pounds—the olinguito uses its agility to live and travel through the trees. This is one of the main reasons this species has managed to remain unknown for such a long time, and why it is only now that more facts on the animal are being discovered. There are four subspecies, with different colors and sizes, all of which are found in the Andes. "

Getting Rid of Mice: Both Business and Residential Issue

"Esteemed journalist and Toronto resident Robert Fulford wrote in 1999, “Kensington today is as much a legend as a district. The (partly) outdoor market has probably been photographed more often than any other side in Toronto.” In one of the neighborhood's photographs that came out this January posted on social site Reddit, three rats feast on scraps in a shelving unit at New Seaway Fish Market. Within the same day, health inspectors visited the shop, and shut it down . Completely getting rid of mice in a semi-open space full of goods and produce as old as Kensington Market is truly a difficult undertaking. However, early signs of infestation merit due diligence. According to news reports, Kim Chou, owner of the mouse-infested shop, takes full responsibility for the problem getting out of control. Although the shop received a conditional pass back in November 2012, Chou was told to handle what seemed like a beginning of a rat infestation."

Getting Rid of Rodents Effectively Prevents Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome

Effectively getting rid of rodents is the first and best step people can do to avoid the said virus. Early this year, the State Health Department of Oklahoma warned people to be careful with their spring cleaning. Cabins, attics, storage units, and other areas largely left unused over the winter might have provided shelter for infected mice. Simply inhaling contaminated dust from mouse saliva, droppings, and urine can infect a person with pathogens that cause Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS). To minimize the chances of infection from a contaminated room, Laurence Burnsed recommends home cleaners to ventilate the area for at least 30 minutes, and then wetting down the area with a mixture of bleach and water to prevent virus-laden dust from being stirred up.

Effective Rodent Control Service to Contain Squirrel Population and Prevent Damage to Homes

"Last year, Tom Oder wrote an article for Mother Nature Network (MNN) citing residents' concerns over the apparently increasing squirrel population. This is an issue faced by homeowners living in several areas in the eastern United States and in several regions in Canada as well. While much has been written about the health dangers these furry creatures pose, not a lot has been written about the possible damage they cause when they gain entry to a home. The most common entry point for squirrels is the attic. Once squirrels have made one's home their home, the results can turn ugly as they normally produce at least two to eight offspring in each litter. However, in those cases when a homeowner suspects that there are several families of squirrels who've already settled in quite nicely, it's best to call on a reliable rodent control service before things turn for the worse."

‘Killing Kindly’ As a Last Resort in Rodent Control

All over the world, there is always the issue of how effective rodent control can be done in the most humane way possible. “Kind” and “gentle” are two words frequently used by animal welfare activists and companies engaged in the containment of domestic pests such as rats and mice. Since these animals are commonly found in homes and pose real risks to the health of human beings, efforts are geared toward reduction and elimination first. The use of methods with intent to annihilate is always a last resort. At the same time, traps should be inspected as frequently as possible. If a rodent, for example, has been caught, pest control operatives or rodent control specialists like Skedaddle can be called in. Such experts will know how to properly handle the animals without subjecting them to further harm or injury, and could likewise determine when a house is completely free of rat and mice infestation.

Humane Wildlife Control: Spread of Diseases Caught in Wildlife

Biologists and health professionals across United States are fighting the war against rabies with marshmallow-flavoured packets of ONRAB, wildlife rabies vaccine bait.

This project pioneered by the Department of Agriculture is part of a long-running campaign to control rabies amongst wild animals in particular raccoons, skunks and other furry critters. Field trials of ONRAB were distributed from New Hampshire, New York, Ohio and Vermont. The vaccines were distributed by hand placement or dropped from a low flying aircraft. With its marshmallow flavour, animals finding the bait will chew on the packets thereby releasing the vaccine into their mouth, which will orally vaccinate them against rabies.  ONRAB wildlife vaccine baits are targeted to raccoons and skunks which were observed to have been not affected by another oral vaccine – Raboral V-RG.

The government’s campaign against rabies started almost a decade ago.  Nonetheless, it was noticed that the increasing incident of rabies contraction were from wild animals and not domesticated ones. Compared to dogs and cats which are annually vaccinated, wildlife is more exposed to rabies and other diseases that may ultimately endanger the safety of everyone in the community.

Rabies is a virus that attacks the central nervous system. It is commonly transmitted through saliva or bites of infected animals. Animals and humans with rabies exhibit symptoms such as malaise, headache and fever progressing into acute pain, violent movements to more drastic mania, lethargy and coma. The primary cause of death due to rabies is respiratory insufficiency.  Over 60,000 people annually across the globe are affected by rabies. In the United States alone, there are about 6,000-7,000 reported cases, which majority affects wild animals.

Even if the government is taking measures to stop rabies from spreading, citizens should not be complacent.  Upon detection of the presence of wild animals in your own property, immediate actions should be taken to humanely remove them. Specialized human wildlife control, such as Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control, may be employed to ensure health and safety.

Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control is Canada’s largest wildlife control company with the experience of over 200,000 wildlife removals and exclusions. Established in 1989, Skeddaddle Wildlife features top of the line environmentally-friendly, poison-free animal/ pest control and cellulose installation.  The company is licensed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ministry of the Environment, and the preferred choice of Humane Societies and SPCA for humane wildlife control and removal.

Seeking Help from Experts in Animal Control for Wildlife Displacement

"While dogs are often regarded as man's best friend, the same can not be said for all animals, as many are regarded as nuicances. Not everybody loves animals, especially critters that gain entry to a home without invitation, and damage appliances and other valuable property. Such a situation often occurs in suburban homes as feral animals perceive them to be safe from predators, and often laden with food. Residents of Toronto, Canada seem to be more tolerant of urban wildlife. In an article by Leslie Scrivener for TheStar.com, the idea of peacefully co-existing with foxes, deer, and other woodland creatures is slowly becoming accepted by the community. Those who still don't want anything to do with animals can maintain their stance; however, they should keep unwelcome creatures out of their homes and lives only with humane and reliable animal control for wildlife."

When An Animal Control Service Helps Clear the Airspace

The health risks from birds encompasses the food you eat as it may contain salmonella and E. coli, along with a host of other fecal microorganisms. Such an issue warrants immediate removal of the animals, and cleaning out their wastes by an animal control outfit like Skedaddle Wildlife. This is in light of concerns from homeowners and business operators about how birds flocking around the area could cause their place to develop an unsightly appearance, making them unappealing to guests and customers. Wildlife removal is an important part of any structure's integrated pest management program, Harrison stressed. A company that removes animals of concern from the area without placing undue stress on them will have a positive impact on your place as well.

Wildlife and Animal Removal: When Even Sports Facilities Needs it

"Certain forms of wildlife could be quite scary when encountered face-to-face. The Los Angeles Dodgers reported to the Los Angeles Times that several skunks and a raccoon were found scurrying across parts of Dodger Stadium in the past two months; the place had at least seven reported skunk invasions. Some kiosk operators in the concourse have complained that the animals left their trademark stench for a long time after they were successfully removed. Pepe Le Pew or Canada's The Raccoons are every bit loveable, but their real-life counterparts are potential catalysts for driving away business and frightening homeowners. The fact that some of these furry animals may be infected with diseases like rabies drives home the case for needing to safely take all of them out of the picture. Experts at wildlife and animal removal outfits such as the crew at Skedaddle Wildlife are what you need to make it happen. "

When Wildlife Control Experts Have Their Hands Full with Bats

"Swarms of bats are more than enough to menace a local community. The Wicked Local in Brookline, Massachusetts, USA, reported that wildlife removal outfits received 43 calls on bat infestations in the first three weeks of August. A local wildlife specialist admits the cases have already swamped their lines with at least 100 calls received in one full day. Having to deal with bats flapping around in people's homes always shakes the resolve of Ontario residents. The province is already home to eight species of bats; two of these, the little and big brown bat, are also found in Massachusetts. Although many of these night creatures sleep in abandoned mines during the day, bats can just as easily choose to dorm in someone's house, unnerving the residents enough to call in wildlife control experts such as those from Skedaddle Wildlife to remove the intruders. Say No to Bed Bugs With the Help of An Efficient Pest Control Company

"Bed bugs being so tiny is what makes it hard to extinguish them. They hide in bed, small cracks, walls, and everywhere they possibly can; the next thing you know, they already infested your entire home! According to an article in Canadian Press, the cause of the rise of bed bugs is the high frequency of public transportation and travel. Luxury hotels in Vancouver suffer from bed bugs which is not a good sign for the business. The infestation is almost out of control that not even reliable pest control company such as Skeddadle Humane Wildlife Control can eliminate them with heat treatment and pesticides alone. Though they don't pose serious threat to health, it is still not enough to let them stay and not mind the itch that they cause. Health officials suggested to maintain the cleanliness around, hoping it'll completely eradicate those small pesky bugs. Without dirt, then they'll never have a breeding nor living space to live in."
